Fulham set for tough non-League challenge

Fulham have been warned they face a rough ride in the FA Cup fourth round when they travel to non-League Kettering.

Roy Hodgson's side scraped past Sheffield Wednesday 2-1 thanks to Andy Johnson's strike two minutes from time, his second goal of the match.

Kettering knocked out Eastwood Town and scorer Gareth Seddon (right) said: "To get any Premier League team in the FA Cup is just brilliant - especially as we have them at home.

"We have a good chance of beating them too. It will be a very tough game with a hostile atmosphere.

"The perfect result will be to draw at home and then take them back to Fulham."

Charlton notched up two records at the Valley in their 1-1 draw with Norwich.

Jonjo Shelvey, 16, became the club's youngest goal scorer, while the draw stretches their win-less run to 17 games - breaking the previous record which stood since 1955.

Manager Phil Parkinson said: "Jonjo is only 16 and he's a terrific prospect but we'll have to be careful when and where we play him.

"He's a big asset and will be a top player. I'm sure we can keep hold of him, there haven't been any calls yet."

Queens Park Rangers manager Paulo Sousa was critical of referee Tony Bates for failing to protect his players during their 0-0 draw with Burnley.

Sousa said: "I don't like to speak too much about the officials, because they have a very tough job, but he missed a lot.

"Emmanuel Ledesma was caught with an elbow and he failed to spot it. It was one against one and somehow he missed it.

"We need to protect the game and the players are a big part of the game. Without that protection, it is tough."

Crystal Palace boss Neil Warnock accused his side of lacking the killer instinct in their 0-0 draw at Leicester.

With the transfer window now open, Warnock added that he is looking to off-load the club's high earners and wants the youngsters to replace them.

"We are just lacking that bit of quality and we hope we can get someone in on loan in January but it's more about players leaving than coming in.

"We have people within our squad who can do the job. Victor Moses is an example of somebody who can do it for us."

Millwall drew 2-2 with Crewe after a mistake from goalkeeper David Forde and a poorly defended free-kick earned the visitors a replay.

Lions boss Kenny Jackett said: "I was disappointed with their goals because we didn't defend them well enough.

"For their second, I wasn't happy with the way we set up to defend the free-kick. It looked like we left too much of a gap for Shelley to hit, and he smashed it in."
