Federer doubts over ‘favourite’ Murray
13 Jan 2009Roger Federer is stunned that bookmakers have made Andy Murray the favourite to win the Australian Open.
The British No1 has alreay beaten Federer (twice), Rafael Nadal and Andy Roddick this year and retained his Qatar Open title.
But ahead of the season's first grand slam, which starts on Monday, world No2 Federer said: "He's playing well and finished strongly last year but I'm surprised that the bookies say that. He's never won a slam and winning a slam is a different animal."
