Wayne Routledge is excited about the future after grabbing his first goal for Queens Park Rangers.

Mikele Leigertwood was also on target in a 2-0 win at Derby. And winger Routledge, who joined from Aston Villa this month, hopes to be back in the Premier League soon.

He said: "They showed me the future for the club and the important thing for me was to play football. There's massive potential and we can get into the Premier League."

Charlton were thrashed 4-1 at Sheffield Wednesday and manager Phil Parkinson is beginning to show his frustration as they prop up the rest of the Championship. "The performance was unacceptable and I had to tell a few home truths afterwards," Parkinson said.

Crystal Palace crashed 4-1 at home to Ipswich and struggling Watford gave their fans plenty to moan about when they were beaten 2-0 at Vicarage Road by Sheffield United.

"It's frustrating to hear the fans booing because everyone needs to understand the transition," said defender Jay DeMerit. "We don't want to lose and it's disappointing."
