Lance Armstrong still believes he has a chance to win his comeback race after three years in retirement.

Allan Davis won today's fourth stage of the Tour Down Under from Burnside Village to Angaston to hold a four-second lead overall ahead of fellow Australian Graeme Brown.

With two stages to go, seven-time Tour de France winner Armstrong is a further 35 seconds behind but the American said of his chances: "I can be there, I won't be riding away."

Meanwhile, Floyd Landis, who lost his 2006 Tour de France title after testing positive for elevated levels of testosterone will make his comeback at next month's Tour of California in February.

The 33-year-old American, whose ban ends on 30 January, said: "This isn't some kind of statement to shut down the critics."
