Double trouble: Heidar Helguson scored twice for QPR against Blackpool

Heidar's the hero for QPR

28 Jan 2009

Heidar Helguson scored twice in a 3-0 victory at Blackpool to keep Queens Park Rangers in touching distance of the play-offs.

The striker headed home a cross to give Rangers a half-time lead, then converted from the penalty spot after Ian Evatt had brought down Lee Cook. Cook then teed up Hogan Ephraim for a third late on.

The win means Rangers are level on points with sixth-placed Cardiff and re-ignites their promotion hopes.

Boss Paulo Sousa said: "It's important for Heidar to score and for the team it's fantastic. We are building in confidence all the time with the run we are in."
