Brentford boss Andy Scott said his side will need to show more steel if they are to maintain their play-off push after last night's 2-0 defeat at Morecambe.

Brentford remain in second place in League Two but Scott said: "It was always going to be tough coming to Morecambe in midweek and once we went behind we needed a bit more leadership which is something that isn't always easy to teach.

"But if we are to stay in the play-off places we need a bit more knowledge in games like this."

Scott was also left bemoaning his side's 500-mile round trip and a journey he will want to forget. He added: "The weather has made it a logistical nightmare and we had to book a hotel to make sure all the players could get on the coach.

"Both games against Morecambe have been midweek games and that is just ridiculous for both sides.''

Morecambe went in front on 23 minutes when Fraser McLachlan's long ball beat the Brentford defence and Michael Twiss was free to lash home his first goal of the season.

Rene Howe wrapped up the win for the home side when scoring from close range in the 89th minute.
