Asif handed one-year ban for using steroids in IPL

Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Asif was today banned for a year by the Indian Premier League after testing positive for nandrolone during last year's tournament.
It is effectively a worldwide suspension as the International Cricket Council expect all member boards to enforce the penalty.
"We have a zero tolerance in the area of doping," said chief executive Haroon Lorgat.
Mahela Jayawardene, 31, is to quit as captain of Sri Lanka after the tour of Pakistan ends next month.
