John Terry has admitted Chelsea's stars are battling for their first-team places under new manager Guus Hiddink.

The Dutchman, 62, took charge on Monday and has already made a strong impression on his squad.

Terry said: "There are new styles, new methods and training has been really sharp. Everyone is fighting for their places once again.

"He has looked at videos of us playing and wants to change a few things and do it his way."

Meanwhile, striker Claudio Pizarro, who is on a season-long loan at Werder Bremen, insists he will only return to Chelsea next term if he is guaranteed first-team football.
