Pitch fear for Hughes
James Olley19 Feb 2009
Mark Hughes has warned his Manchester City side not to underestimate Copenhagen in tonight's UEFA Cup clash, writes James Olley.
The Danes are still in their winter break, having reached the last-32 for the first time, and Hughes said: "We are right in the middle of our season so physically we are in better shape. We know Danish teams are not to be taken lightly, so we won't fall into that trap.
"Copenhagen are a strong team with a good work ethic. They have a good threat in an attacking sense."
Hughes is concerned about the Parken Stadium pitch, which was only relaid on Monday. He added: "Irrespective of the work they do with it, the pitch won't have time to bed in."

If there are problems with the pitch then City should raise hell through UEFA particularly given the absolute nonsense spouted by the Chairman of the team from the land of Hnas Christian Anderson.
