Rodgers sees the benefits of Watford's hard work

2 Mar 2009

Watford manager Brendan Rodgers is convinced he is beginning to work his magic at Vicarage Road after seeing the Hornets beat Crystal Palace 2-0.

New signing Don Cowie opened the scoring before Palace defender Jose Fonte turned the ball into his own net.

Rodgers said: "The art of success is hard work. There is no trick to it. How I work has always brought me success."

Crystal Palace boss Neil Warnock is looking at loan signings to boost his side's flagging season.

He added: "We don't have the quality. I am trying to get a few loan players in but the climate is difficult to get anyone in at the minute."

Charltonrecorded an impressive 1-1 draw at Swansea but lost more ground in their battle against relegation.

QPR slumped to a 2-1 defeat to Barnsley to extend their winless run to five games.

Boss Paulo Sousa said: "The result hasn't damaged my ambitions. My goal this season is to build a solid base for the future. That future is next season."
