Swiss back Federer as he misses Davis Cup
4 Mar 2009Switzerland have defended Roger Federer's decision to pull out of this week's Davis Cup tie against the United States.
The world No2 has been troubled by a back problem, leaving the Swiss to face a team including Andy Roddick and James Blake.
"It wasn't an easy decision for Roger to make, but I think it's very important for his career that he make this decision," said world No16 Stanislas Wawrinka.
