Andy Murray could be back in action soon after tests revealed he does not have glandular fever.

The world No4 pulled out of the Dubai Open two weeks ago due to a virus and there were fears the illness could spark a long lay off.

That has now been discounted following the latest tests, giving Murray hope he will return soon.

Without their top player, Great Britain made the worst possible start to their Davis Cup clash against Ukraine as Josh Goodall lost 76, 76, 76 to Ilya Marchenko.

Goodall did well to keep himelf in the first set after trailing 3-0 but lost it on the tie break against a player who at No227 in the world is 35 places lower in the rankings.

The Briton fought hard to establish a 5-3 lead in the second set tie break but fell away again to go two sets down before he needed treatment to his left leg. Goodall seemed destined for a defeat in the 12th game but saved five match points and took the match into a third tie break. Marchenko wasted a sixth match point before claiming a vital win.
