Tale of Woe: Tresor Kandol scored twice, but Charlton were beaten 3-2 by Watford

Kandol admits it looks gloomy for Charlton

Tresor Kandol admits Charlton are playing for pride after their fate was virtually sealed by defeat at Watford.

The on-loan Leeds striker scored twice but it was not enough for Charlton after Tamas Priskin secured a late 3-2 win.

The Addicks are 12 points adrift from safety with 10 games to play and Kandol said: "We have to stay focused for the next three games. You need to do well for the club, your team-mates, the fans, your family - you are playing for everyone really. It's difficult when you are down the other end of the table but you have to keep on believing and everyone has to keep on encouraging each other."

Watford boss Brendan Rodgers hailed Priskin after he added to Don Cowie and Grzegorz Rasiak's goals.

Rodgers believes he is now getting the best out of the Hungarian striker, who has scored 11 goals this term.

Rodgers said: "Tamas is a big boy and might not be the aggressive type, but I've worked with players from eastern Europe and you have to focus on the things he is good at."
