Liverpool set sights on new summer bid for Lennon

Tottenham face a fight to hang on to Aaron Lennon this summer, with Liverpool set to make a renewed bid to land the winger.

Lennon has been outstanding of late, producing a superb display in the Carling Cup Final defeat by Manchester United and scoring four goals in his last seven matches.

Liverpool were interested in signing Lennon during the January transfer window when Spurs were negotiating the deal to bring back Robbie Keane but Harry Redknapp was unwilling to let him move.

Lennon, 21, has a contract with Spurs until 2012 but does not figure among the top earners at White Hart Lane. He is also pushing for a recall to the England squad and Keane believes his team-mate could make it.

He insisted: "I see no reason why he shouldn't be in the England squad."

Meanwhile, Jamie O'Hara played the full 90 minutes last night as Spurs' reserves were beaten 3-0 by Fulham. Gareth Bale, Chris Gunter, Fraizer Campbell, Adel Taarabt and Giovani dos Santos were also involved in the defeat.

Let him go, so he's had a couple of good games recently. untill then he's been awful & can't cross. Like Keane he is ideally suited to a club like Spuds - no ambition & he can stay being a small fish in a small pond

If he's like the last piece of dross we took from you then you can keep him. Having siad that I think he'd flourish with us... he's young and he's got pace... he could do better at the Pool than he ever would with Spurs... even playing regular Champions League would be an experince for him

I know lets sell him to Liverpool for £10 million, then buy him back half way through the season for £15 million & increased wages.

Lennon is and will get better. If we allow him to go then it will be just another example of our desire to but profit over team. It won't happen.

He must be delighted that such an attractive, attacking outfit as Liverpool are after his services. You know that team that entertain fans up and down the country with their cavalier style of play.Aaron put this one to bed the "waiter" will have you playing at right back before Christmas, and never shall you see opposition goal posts again!!

5 good games a season doesn't warrant Lennon going to a big club..

Typical Benitez, wanted Barry , did'nt get him, went for Keano, got him and lost him...Now Lennon!
Benitez, you need a another forward and you don't play with wide players!

does he want to play put of position, dropped if he goes on a scoring spree, and not have a lot of the ball for long periods as liverpool hardly play with any width do they..i think he is settled at spurs, loves london..does he fancy having his home robbed when he is away also.??
we must not sell our best players,Man Utd fair enough but not to the mad Rafa..

Yeah, sell him in the summer. We can then buy him back 6 months later for £5 million less.

Liverpool can have Lennon for £20m in the summer...and we'll have him back at Christmas for £12m, after Rafa spends half a year playing him at left back!
