Thierry Henry notched his 50th Champions League goal to help take Barcelona comfortably into the quarter-finals of the competition.

The former Arsenal striker opened the scoring against Lyon in the 25th minute at the Nou Camp and notched up his half century two minutes later, before Lionel Messi and then Samuel Eto'o stretched the lead to 4-0 (5-1 on aggregate) right on the stroke of half-time.

Lyon pulled back with goals from Jean Makoun and Juninho - who was later sent off - before Seydou Keita added a fifth for Barcelona.

Messi now believes Barcelona are beginning to show their qualities in Europe.

He said: "We have produced a great match, especially given its importance. We are now playing our best game and getting the results we want."

Former winners Porto also made it through to the quarter-finals. They played out a goalless draw with Atletico Madrid to win on away goals after the first leg between the two teams ended 2-2 in Spain.
