Pushing for promotion: Paulo Sousa is confident his side can make the play-offs

Paulo Sousa insists Queens Park Rangers can still make the play-offs despite the goalless draw at Southampton leaving his side 10 points off the top six.

Rangers boss Sousa (below) said: "Until the maths has other ideas, we keep believing that we can reach the top six. The board and I have expectations and next season we will be stronger."

Crystal Palace manager Neil Warnock saw his side beat Swansea 3-1 but still expects to miss out on the play-offs.

He said: "We are in transition. I want to prepare for what we can do next season."

WATFORD goalkeeper Scott Loach was relieved that his error which allowed Sheffield Wednesday's Marcus Tudgay to score was overshadowed by Mark Beevers' 25-yard own goal.

The game finished 2-2 and Loach said: "Their own goal made me smile because people might remember that a bit more than my error."

Charlton boss Phil Parkinson remained defiant after a 2-1 defeat at Wolves. He said: "Whether we go down or stay up, this club will come back bigger and stronger."
