Hull chairman Paul Duffen has claimed "many members" of his club's playing and coaching staff were aware of the alleged spitting incident involving Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas.

The FA have written to Hull to ask for their version of events after manager Phil Brown claimed Fabregas - who was not involved in the game because of injury - had spat at the feet of Tigers assistant manager Brian Horton in the tunnel at Emirates Stadium after Arsenal's 2-1 win.

Hull are preparing a report to send to the FA, after Horton sought advice from the League Managers' Association.

Duffen said: "Without doubt, something happened. The FA have launched an enquiry, and I am sure they will find out exactly what happened, and what needs to be done as a result of that.

"We know what happened. Many members of our team and staff know what happened, so we welcome the enquiry totally, and I am very happy that the FA have launched it."
