Injuries force Scott to adjust his front line

23 Mar 2009

Brentford manager Andy Scott has the choice of three on-loan strikers to fill the void left by season-ending injuries to Nathan Elder and Jordan Rhodes.

Aston Villa youngster Sam Williams is likely to get the vote against Dagenham and Redbridge tonight but new arrivals Billy Clarke, from Ipswich, and Cheltenham's Damian Spencer are also in contention.

Scott moved to sign the latter pair last weekend after it was confirmed that Rhodes's foot injury would deny him any further part in table-topping Brentford's League Two promotion challenge.

Fellow striker Elder had already been ruled out for the season following an horrific facial injury and the double blow forced Scott into the loan market to find new partners for top scorer Charlie MacDonald.

Brentford are also missing captain Kevin O'Connor (knee) for tonight's derby, while Dagenham are likely to name an unchanged line-up.
