Ukraine midfielder Alexander Aliev has claimed Fabio Capello still has to prove his worth as England manager.

The Italian has steered his new team to a 100 per cent record after four matches in Group Six and earned a host of plaudits for galvanising a hitherto disjointed squad of world-class talent.

But Aliev, who is set to start when the two sides meet at Wembley tomorrow night, said: "The influence of Fabio Capello is quite interesting, but only the final whistle of the last match will give us a true explanation as to how good he is, and how good he has been for England. But whatever the result, the competition is quite open, so there's still a long way to go, but at the end it will be England, Croatia and Ukraine who are going to go for qualification."

The 24-year-old Dinamo Kiev star also insists there is no expectation on Ukraine to get a result against England and turned up the heat on the hosts to justify their favourites' tag.

He added: "We are not under any pressure at all.

"If we win we will be heroes back home; if we get a point, the same.

"And if we lose no one will say we are a bad team because we are playing England at home at Wembley, and all the pressure is on England.

"The English team have big names but the facts show that they have not won any trophies for a long time."

Team-mate Olexandr Kucher also insists Ukraine can end England's unbeaten start to the qualifying campaign.

The Shakhtar Donetsk defender said: "The fact England are considered favourites to win can be turned into our advantage.

"We're capable of surprising them and going there to win.

"What's the use of travelling that far knowing that you are going to lose?"
