McCoy's Butler to serve up betting frenzy

Tony McCoy is set to spark a Grand National gamble by opting to ride second favourite Butler's Cabin in Saturday's big race at Aintree.

The 13-time champion jockey, who has had 13 unsuccessful attempts to win the famous steeplechase, left it until the last minute to decide which one of a quartet of owner JP McManus's horses he would partner.

Bookmaker Stan James has already clipped the Jonjo O'Neill-trained Butler's Cabin to 8-1 from 9-1 after the news that McCoy will again ride the nine-year-old. The pair parted company at Becher's Brook on the second circuit last year.

McManus's other runners will be ridden by Robert Thornton (L'Ami), Noel Fehily (Can't Buy Time) and Mark Walsh (Reveillez).

Meanwhile, trainer Charles Egerton has handed Wayne Hutchinson the ride on Darkness, as Dominic Elsworth continues to struggle with a shoulder injury.

The top 40 in the handicap from the last confirmation stage on Monday - with the exception of the already withdrawn War Of Attrition - all stood their ground at today's final declaration stage, meaning Zabenz takes his place at the foot of the weights on 10st 5lb.
