Ross Brawn has branded Formula One team chiefs who claim that Jenson Button's car is illegal as "uneducated and uninformed".

Ferrari, Renault, Red Bull and BMW-Sauber have lodged official protests against the controversial diffusers on the Brawn GP, Toyota and Williams cars.

The FIA will rule on the case a week today and could strip the three teams of their points, which would be a huge blow to Britain's Button, who has won both races this season.

Brawn said: "I don't like some of the comments some of the other team principals are making, but they're uneducated and uninformed. If they looked at the facts they would realise that."

Meanwhile, it is understood that McLaren could learn tomorrow whether the FIA will take further action over the 'Lie-gate' scandal involving Lewis Hamilton.
