Manchester City fans need to be patient, says Micah Richards
9 Apr 2009Micah Richards believes it could be years before Manchester City realise their full potential under the Abu Dhabi United Group.
City travel to joint Bundesliga leaders Hamburg in a UEFA Cup quarter-final, first-leg tonight with the defender urging fans to take a long-term view.
He said: “There is pressure with people expecting us to win every game but we need room to build, maybe three or four years. That will be the time to judge us.”
Martin Petrov, who only returned to the reserves on Monday at Newcastle after six months out with a knee injury, could feature. Boss Mark Hughes said: “We've missed him this year.”
