Andy Flower set to be confirmed as new England coach
14 Apr 2009Andy Flower is expected to be confirmed as England's full-time coach this week.
The 40-year-old was in charge during the recent tour of West Indies, where he established a close working relationship with captain Andrew Strauss, and impressed with his work despite England's lack of success.
It is believed that the Zimbabwean was interviewed over the weekend, and his appointment as team director could even be sealed by tomorrow, with the squad for the First Test against West Indies, starting at Lord's on 6 May, to be selected on Saturday.
National selector Geoff Miller has been in contact with ECB managing director Hugh Morris and said: "He knows that the team director has to be involved in picking that squad. Time is tight."
