Harry Redknapp
on their way out? Harry Redknapp may choose to sell David Bentley, Darren Bent, Gareth Bale and Roman Pavlyuchenko in the summer

Harry Redknapp blasts Roman Pavlyuchenko’s agent

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has criticised Roman Pavlyuchenko's agent for claiming rival striker Darren Bent will be sold in the summer.

The Russian's representative Victor Kolar had said “Spurs may sell only one of their forwards and it's Bent.”

The Spurs manager today insisted the agent has got his facts wrong, saying: “I don't know where he would get that type of information and it's false anyway. He has no right to say that.”

Pavlyuchenko is likely to be ruled out of Sunday's visit of Newcastle by a back problem.

That will give Bent another chance to impress and could see Jermain Defoe return from injury, though midfielder Jermaine Jenas is a doubt with hamstring problems.

England striker Defoe played just four games following his January return from Portsmouth before breaking a bone in his foot.

Redknapp said: “Jermain has been pushed back into the frame a little quicker than we first thought but he should be fine. He's been fine in training this week.”

Okay guys, let's leave out the comings and goings and nail the Geordies on Sunday. We owe that outfit a decent stuffing - and can possibly measure out progress by beating a team who've consistently overcome us at home and away for the past few years.

We need to keep Pavyluchenko, double figures goal wise this season, despite not getting that many premier league starts. Not sure Defoe and Keano as smaller players can feed of each other, Bent also deserves praise. Defence and Midfield need shoring up. As for Gomes going to Chelsea well I don't think it is a late April fool joke, maybe a sign from the gods. He does look like to look up to the sky when the corners come in!

Further to jd of Belfast; I couldn't agree more with his comments about Jenas. He continually gives the ball away in important areas of the pitch; slow to recognise colleagues' movements; passes squarely to often to no advantage; and cannot be relied upon to support the attack from behind. Tom Huddleston must fume when he has to sit and watch him play

Jenas really picked up under Ramos, and has been under-played by Harry. Don't forget his goal in the 5-1 and his late strike at The Emirates, each inspiring great results against the enemy.

At the end of the day... you'll always be a Spurs legend when you produce this kind of display. Bentley will always be heralded for his wonder goal in the same game!

Players needed for this coming season I would like to see at Spurs are Kevin Davies (Bolton) as replacement striker. He is an excellent and skillful player who is good in the air, can actually bully defenders and holds up the ball to bring other players into the attack, something we are sadly lacking. For the left wing I would like to see Downing at WHL, but with the proviso that he faces very strong competition for his place maybe from Joe Ledley (Cardiff) or the Belgian, Hazard. In central midfield I would like to see Kranjcar as attacking option and Veloso (Lisbon) as an extra defensive player. At left back I would like to see Shorey (Villa), brought in, he's a good player even if it did'nt work out with O'Neil, he could also mentor and coach Bale as a LB. With regard to the CB position I would like to see Dervitte getting some time in the first team. Players out :- Staltieri, Chimbonda, Rocha, Gilberto, Boateng, Zokora, O'Hara, Bent.
