Heavy defeat: Mike Tindall missed Gloucester's 50-12 thumping at the hands of Cardiff Blues

Mike Tindall’s rally cry after Dean Ryan lets off steam

21 Apr 2009

Mike Tindall says Gloucester must prove to furious head coach Dean Ryan they are not a bunch of losers.

After Gloucester's 50-12 thumping at the hands of Cardiff Blues in the EDF Energy Cup Final, Ryan declared: “This group of players aren't good enough to compete at this level. It will be part of our review over the summer.”

With reports the squad could be overhauled, Tindall has urged his team-mates to prove they deserve to stay.

“I think what Dean said has laid down the challenge to people,” he said. “If we lose our last two games our season is over so there's no point holding anything back.”

The England centre will miss the home clash against Worcester due to a knee injury.

And they promptly lose to Worcester, proving Tindall wrong.
