Jose Mourinho: English coaches live in paradise

23 Apr 2009

Jose Mourinho has dropped another strong hint that he would return to the Premier League by claiming English football is “a paradise” for coaches.

The former Chelsea boss is on the brink of leading Inter Milan to the Serie A title in his first season but Mourinho has never given the impression that he has fallen in love with the Italian game.

He claimed managing in Italy was far tougher than in England and said: “Arsene Wenger works in peace. Arsenal haven't won anything for four years but he carries on his fantastic work with his young players, who have no pressure on them.

“I believe the 4-4 draw with Arsenal means Liverpool can't win the League, which will be the fifth time Rafael Benitez has failed to do so as coach. Yet he is still able to continue his fantastic work. English football is a paradise for coaches.”

And yet he was summarily dismissed from his job in this "coaches' paradise" where he infers you can just toddle along. Selective memory, huh, Mr. Mourinho?
