Roy Keane: Manchester United stars flopped as managers

24.04.09

Roy Keane has branded all his former Manchester United team-mates as failures in management.

The Irishman dismissed the idea that United's 1994 Double-winning squad represented a managerial dynasty as he agreed a two-year deal to take charge of Ipswich yesterday.

Bryan Robson, Steve Bruce, Mark Hughes and Paul Ince have all bossed at Premier League level, as well as Keane himself, but the 37-year-old showed virtual contempt for their achievements.

Keane said: "Who are the good managers you are talking about? Sparky and Brucey have not won a trophy, have they? They have potential but anyone can have potential.

"Until a team-mate of mine from 1994 goes on and really achieves something, I couldn't agree that they've been a successful manager."
