Kevin Keen has expressed his delight that Gianfanco Zola and Steve Clarke have committed their futures to West Ham by signing new contracts.

Keen is the third member of the coaching trio at Upton Park, the unsung hero as Zola's injury-ravaged squad try to secure European football next season by dragging themselves over the line in seventh spot.

The former West Ham midfielder has also had a tough time recently, after his father died.

Keen made 263 appearances for the Hammers between 1986-93 and Glenn Roeder brought him back nearly seven years ago as youth team coach and since then he has worked under another three managers.

Keen said: "I was reserve team coach last season but when Franco and Steve came in, the board wanted me to work with them as someone who had been here for some time.

"The way the players have reacted has been brilliant and there's a good feeling around the club."

West Ham travel to Stoke tomorrow, one of Keen's former clubs, who still need points to ensure their safety.
