Taking stock: Cesc Fabregas believes Arsenal have learned a lot from a difficult campaign

Cesc Fabregas: We'll end on a high

Cesc Fabregas has backed his beleaguered Arsenal team-mates to bounce back by beating Chelsea.

The Gunners were knocked out of the Champions League by Manchester United earlier this week with a defeat that condemned them to their fourth successive trophy-less season.

But the 22-year-old Spaniard believes they have learned a lot from a difficult campaign and vowed to begin the building process for next season by closing the gap on the Blues, who occupy third place in The League.

He said: "It has been a difficult season. For a young squad like ours we did quite well. It is tough, but you have to stand up and look for the future. If we keep going and keep the team together, I am sure this team will have a lot to say in the future.

"We need to be positive, to help each other and I am sure we will be okay on Sunday."

Who cares if we do beat Chelsea and United before the season ends?

It'd be nice to celebrate beating our top four rivals for a few hours, but in truth it'd be scant consolation for these players not doing it when it really mattered!!!
