Colin Calderwood in QPR frame
14 May 2009Colin Calderwood and Jim Magilton are battling it out to land the job as the next QPR boss.
Former Nottingham Forest boss Calderwood has had talks with Rangers owner Flavio Briatore but faces competition from Magilton, who is bidding to make a quick return to management following his dismissal by Ipswich.
The two men head the shortlist drawn up by the club and the fact they are front-runners marks a clear shift in policy by Rangers. Both men have experience of working in the Championship with small budgets but neither has managed at a higher level.

Colin Calderwood had one of the largest budgets in the CCC, don't know how you can say that he's used to working on a small budget!

Both Magilton & Calderwood are not good enough for the job. Why do you think their previous employer's sacked them? If the board want to take Queens Park Rangers forward, then start by employing a descent manager, not this rubbish that is being mentioned through the press etc. Neither Magilton or Calderwood appeal to the fans at Loftus Road. So do us a favour Flav & keep the fans happy, appoint a better qualified man to do a difficult task. As The Championship is a tough division to get out of.
