Spurs linked with Goran Pandev

19 May 2009

Tottenham are among clubs chasing Lazio striker Goran Pandev, according to his agent.

The 25-year-old Macedonia international has yet to agree a new deal with the Serie A club, prompting speculation of a summer move.

The futures of both winger David Bentley and striker Darren Bent are uncertain, meaning boss Harry Redknapp could be set to lure fresh attacking talent to White Hart Lane.

"Hamburg and Tottenham are among the teams most interested, but are not the only ones on a European level who would be interested," Pandev's representative Alessandro Corsi told www.tuttomercatoweb.

"We are talking about a player who has a high market level for his technical qualities, age and experience.

"I would prefer to talk about these things when I meet with the president, but I believe that Pandev is developing the idea of leaving Lazio.

"At this moment the renegotiation and renewal seem rather complicated."

Meanwhile, winger Aaron Lennon collected a hat-trick of awards at a Tottenham Supporters Clubs' presentation evening.

The 22-year-old was named both the player and young player of the season, as well as scooping the 'glorious moment' award for his dramatic stoppage-time equaliser in the 4-4 draw at Arsenal.

Lennon said: "Last season was not the best for me, but this season I am fitter and each game has gone better and better."

I think we should concentrate on reducing the huge debt we built up aquiring players in the January window. We must sell Bentley, Bent, Bale, Gilberto, Taarabt, Chimbonda & Rocha. Also Jenas & Huddlestone have become stale at WHL & moves would benefit all parties. The other two main concerns are Zokora & Hutton, the first player stated he isnt prepared to play second fiddle at Tottenham, whilst the later has looked extremely ordinary, when not injured. This will leave us with less debt & a core of decent players to add to. We also have a quality young player in Townsend coming through soon, watch this space!

Pandev, Tevez, Villa .... so that's a crocked Downing then, if we're lucky!
