Wanted man? Carlo Ancelotti is favourite to take over at Chelsea after Guus Hiddink leaves

Carlo Ancelotti’s D-Day over Milan future

21 May 2009

Carlo Ancelotti's future at AC Milan will be revealed on Monday if the club qualify for the Champions League 24 hours earlier.

The 49-year-old is favourite to take over at Chelsea after Guus Hiddink leaves at the end of the month to resume his full-time role as manager of Russia.

AC Milan administrator Adriano Galliani said today the club would confirm their coach for next season provided their European future is settled on Sunday.

“If Milan beat Roma, therefore assuring a place in next season's Champions League, on Monday we will reveal the coach,” Galliani said.

“At Milan, there is no chaos but only very clear ideas that will be announced once we claim a Champions League place.

Silvio Berlusconi and I always agree on our decisions. There is no difference between the president and the club administrator and I hope I can make an announcement on Monday.”

Milan are three points clear of Juventus in second place with two games left.
