Leading Oaks fancy Rainbow View pleased trainer John Gosden in a spin round Epsom as part of the 'Breakfast With The Stars' event this morning ahead of the Classic.

Last season's champion juvenile filly was ridden by Jimmy Fortune alongside stablemate and Coronation Cup hopeful Expresso Star.

"She has done two nice pieces of work recently when she has gone five or six lengths clear of the lead horse, but that was not the plan today," said Gosden.

"On pedigree she will get a mile and a quarter fine. I don't know about the other two furlongs but we have to come and find out. Jimmy said how relaxed she was - I think she's growing up, finally."

Rainbow View lost her 100 per cent record when fifth to Ghanaati in the 1,000 Guineas at Newmarket on her seasonal reappearance and is second favourite at 9-2 with Stan James for the Oaks.

However, the firm remain unimpressed and spokesman Charlie McCann said: "Rainbow View got a mile well last year, but there must be serious doubts over her staying the mile-and-a-half trip. The big question in our mind is whether or not she has trained on from two to three."

Jim Bolger has ruled Cuis Ghaire out of the fillies' Classic and will instead rely on Oh Goodness Me.

He said: "Cuis Ghaire is fine. She doesn't handle soft ground and will go for the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot. Oh Goodness Me will be my runner in the Oaks."

In one significant Derby market move today, Aidan O'Brien's Rip Van Winkle was eased to 6-1 from 5-1 with Coral, while Fame And Glory was clipped to 11-4 favourite from 7-2.

Coral spokesman Simon Clare said: "There are rumours circulating that Johnny Murtagh has chosen to ride Fame And Glory and, as such, we have also cut the colt to 4-6 from 11-8 to start favourite."

Meanwhile, trainer John Oxx has scoffed at claims that 2,000 Guineas winner Sea The Stars' Derby participation on 6 June is in doubt.

He said: "He has pleased me in his work since Newmarket and is bang on course for Epsom."
