Harry Redknapp hails resurgent Heurelho Gomes

29 May 2009

Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has hailed "fantastic" Heurelho Gomes for the goalkeeper's recovery in form.

The Brazilian goalkeeper made a series of mistakes in the first few months of the campaign and was widely expected to be replaced, with Carlo Cudicini arriving from Chelsea.

However, the 28-year-old produced a string of consistent displays as Spurs moved up the table.
"Gomes has been fantastic considering the start he had and the bad time he went through," Redknapp told Hotspur magazine.

"He has shown great character to come back from where he was."

Apart from a shaky start, Gomes has been excellent.

Sounds as if Harry is talking up the selling price for another Spurs goalkeeper.
