Djibril Cisse up for Spurs move

Djibril Cisse has admitted he would like to join Tottenham this summer.

The 27-year-old French striker is believed to be among Harry Redknapp's transfer targets after Sunderland decided not to take up the option of signing him permanently from Marseille following a season's loan.

Cisse is desperate to return to England and when asked if he was interested in Spurs he said: "I would say yes. I have heard a lot of good things about Harry Redknapp, because I'm friends with Lassana Diarra, who knew him from Portsmouth."

"I haven't spoken to the boy, as he's under contract at another club, and I don't talk about players at other clubs, but he's definitely a player I'd want here. With Defoe, Keane, Bent and Pavly, Pav, taht Russian bloke that goes out and runs about a bit, I'm down to the bare bones up front. Besides, I heard the boy just wants to come hear and play football"
