Weight of expectation: Kaka is with the Brazil squad as Europe’s elite battle for his signature

Milan chief insists Kaka’s got no chance of Chelsea move

Chelsea's hopes of signing Kaka have suffered a major blow after AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani ruled out any chance of the player moving to Stamford Bridge.

Galliani insists the 27-year old play-maker will either switch to Real Madrid, or stay at the San Siro — despite the Blues' plans to hijack Real's world record £56million move for the player.
And the Spanish club's newly-elected president Florentino Perez has revealed his plans to pair the Brazilian with Cristiano Ronaldo at the Bernabeu next season.

Galliani said: “An agreement with Chelsea could not exist. Kaka goes to Real or he remains at Milan. That is his choice and we are doing everything in complete agreement.

“Negotiations [with Real] do exist but an agreement is not done.”

Perez is confident of securing a deal for Kaka — and he intends to test Manchester United's resolve to hold onto Ronaldo by resurrecting last summer's £75m move for the world player of the year.

In an interview that is bound to infuriate Sir Alex Ferguson, who has said in the past that he would not sell Madrid a virus', Perez insisted: “Kaka, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi are the best players in the world.

“I'm going to work to bring Kaka and Cristiano Ronaldo to Real Madrid.

“What would be very good is to see these great players at Real this season. Cristiano would be one of these.”

Real's determination to sign both Kaka and Ronaldo does at least boost Chelsea's hopes of landing Bayern Munich's in-demand forward Franck Ribery, who is no longer a main target for the La Liga club.

But Milan chief Galliani has warned new Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti to forget about raiding his former club for any other stars, including Brazilian wonderkid Alexandre Pato.

He said: “There is a negotiation for Kaka but none of our other key men are for sale. That includes Pato, Andrea Pirlo and Clarence Seedorf.”

Ancelotti is determined to bring a star name to the club this summer and has also been linked with Valencia striker David Villa.

Can I just check I've got this right?

You're saying this player has decided to move club, country and become the world's most expensive footballer along with everything that goes with that, because someone told him he could have a number five on the back of his shirt?

I understand West Ham are releasing the wonderfully-coiffured Walter Lopez. If Kaka fancies the number five in East London I'm sure Zola would be fine with it.
