Malky Mackay in the frame to be Watford boss
05.06.09
Watford chairman Jimmy Russo admits Malky Mackay is a leading contender to become the club's new manager.
The Championship side are looking for their second new boss in just six months after Brendan Rogers quit for Reading.
Coach Mackay impressed the sqaud during six games as caretaker manager after Adrian Boothroyd was sacked last October.
Russo said: "We would certainly welcome Malky's application. He knows our structure and is Watford through and through."

Andrew - Thats exactly the problem with McEnough, he only bothered to turn up when he was aware that we would let him go to doomed Charlton on loan. Prior to that he was a waste of space. I would unload him this summer, if possible, to get his absurd wages off our expenses. Now Rodgers is gone, he will be back to his old lazy self.

I think that the appointment of brendan rodgers as reading boss shows the sad state of the game in which a 'bigger' club can wave their wands and get what they want. thinking of the new boss Makay would be a poor sucession in my opinion, Craig Levin would be the perfect man for the job but, the best man for the job if we could get him would be Paul Jewell.

Bobbie - did you go to any games last year? McAnuff was excellent from January onwards and coincided with our climb up the table. Even anti McAnuff fans at the ground were cheering him on for his tracking back and his numerous assists for goals. You cannot argue with his record after Christmas. Step off the band wagon. Malky and great should never be used in the same sentence. If we appoint Mackay we will go straight back to the bad old days to being long ball merchants with no direction and abandon all the good work achieved by Rodgers.

Malky would be a great appointment & hopefully he will get rid of the lazy waste of space Jobi McAnuff, whose agent stated that if Brendan Rodgers went then McAnuf would run the last year of his contract down.
