Yaya Toure
Staying away: It appears Yaya Toure won't be joining his brother Kolo at Arsenal

Toure brothers won't team up at Arsenal

9 Jun 2009

Yaya Toure may leave Barcelona in search of better wages but he won't be making it a family affair at Arsenal.

Kolo's younger brother excelled as Barca won the Champions League and his agent, Dimitri Seluk, is unhappy with the pay his client is receiving.

He said: "Yaya has had two seasons of being the lowest earning player in the squad. We always trusted the word of the club that the renewal of the contract would be now."

Seluk added: "If Yaya does leave then it wouldn't be for Arsenal because there are many teams interested in him and offering much better wages."

Arsenal funs in Ethiopia strongly believe..as the towns radio talk shows tell, that Kolo is a backbone of the team's defence and current history, and he shall stay with team.

Kolo to Man city where he will team up with his brother is my guess. Micha+£4mill for Kolo and i think we have a good deal, under Wenger Micha will regain his forma nd his England place. Micha and Gibbs England full backs over the next 5 years! Gallas/Vermealen and Micha/Djourou as our center halves for next season!

i bet the Gooner mob would be saying things differently if Yaya was coming,as he said he aint intersested,it appears he not the type u need,a European winner, who played out of position at ease in the final against Man U...Not wanted ...yeah right...why on earth would he want too leave Barca for the Gooners is bonkers

i think barca should sell yaya toure to arsenal for the right price. but what arsenal really need is defenders like where might sign Thomas Vermaelen from ajax so i rather have a new defender then a milfield.

Although I would on the one hand quite like to see Yaya Toure at Arsenal, on the other hand he seems to be extremely mercenary, difficult & not mentally Arsene Wenger's type of player. Also, it sounds like Kolo Toure might be moving to Man City, which I am not opposed to as I feel Arsenal could benefit from 2 new, bigger centre halves, ideally Juvs's Chiellini & Porto's Bruno Alves. With Song & Djourou as back up.

I hope we dont get him, Song is growing in stature and Ramsey is coming through and should be given a chance. We desperately need strengthening in central defence so Vermaelen and Hangerland/Upson should be priorities with Gallas shown the door. Also Senderos could feature or be sold to recoup some of the substantial outlay on the above players. In Arsene we Trust!

The Agents are at it again. Is he trying to hype the price so that Arsenal can increase their offer? I think he will add steel to the Arsenal midfield judging from his performance in the CL final-even though he played in defense, he did very well. I would love him to come to the Emirates. Watch the space.
