Andy Murray's in a hurry as he races through

Andy Murray eased into the quarter-finals of the Aegon Championships at Queen's Club with a 6-4, 6-4 victory over in-form Spaniard Guillermo Garcia-Lopez.

Murray's pace and placement proved too much for an opponent who came to London having just won his maiden ATP title, on clay in Kitzbuehel, and cracked the world's top 50 for the first time.

Despite having his left ankle heavily strapped, Murray rarely looked in trouble although it took the world No3 until the ninth game of the first set before breaking the serve of Garcia-Lopez.

The 22-year-old Scot clinched the set with a stunning cross-court forehand, which he marked with a yelp that could clearly be heard above the cheers of the centre court crowd. The British No1 then romped through the second set to take the match in one hour and 10 minutes to set up a clash with American Mardy Fish, who took just 55 minutes to beat Spain's Feliciano Lopez 6-1, 6-4.

"I feel good but it'll be a tough match against Mardy," said Murray.

Meanwhile, British No2 Elena Baltacha let slip a one-set lead to lose to fifth seed Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in the third round of the Aegon Classic in Birmingham.

Baltacha took the first set in a tiebreak but the 17-year-old Russian fought back to claim a 6-7, 6-3, 7-6 victory in two hours and 31 minutes.
