Andrew Flintoff strikes out but he still makes impact

12.06.09

England icon Andrew Flintoff's comeback from injury gathered pace today, as he claimed two more wickets on the second day of Lancashire's County Championship match against Durham.

The 31-year-old showed no ill effects from the knee surgery he underwent six weeks ago, taking his tally to four for 47 as Durham's first innings came to a close.

Flintoff's final wicket of the innings was that of Steve Harmison, and his former England colleague soon returned the favour as he dismissed him for just three as Lancashire crumbled to 59 for five.

Of his return to first class action, Flintoff said: "I've missed a lot of cricket. I'll have to sit down with the England medical staff but I want to play as much as possible in the build-up to the Ashes."
