On the up: Paul Collingwood says beating India will give his side a boost

Paul Collingwood: We can lift trophy

Paul Collingwood will lead England into their do or die match against West Indies insisting his team have what it takes to win the World Twenty20.

Yesterday's thrilling three-run victory at Lord's not only knocked defending champions India out of the tournament but also showed that England can beat the best when they are on top form.

Now Collingwood's men need another victory at the Brit Oval this evening to reach the semi-finals and eliminate West Indies in the process.

"I said to the lads the other day after losing to South Africa that if we win four more games we'll win the World Cup - now that's down to three," said Collingwood (right, with Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni). "I think beating India does give us the belief we can go on and win it. But we have to make sure we have that same commitment and desire tonight that we had at Lord's against India.

"We've been on a little bit of a roller-coaster ride - up and down, playing well and then not so well - but this is a big game for us and we have to keep going for it.

"It's another must-win game and hopefully that kind of pressure brings the best out of us again."

India's supporters heavily outnumbered England fans at Lord's but it should be a different story at the Brit Oval tonight. "I'm sure we'll have a proper backing who will get right behind us," said Collingwood.
