Spurs chairman at the Bernabeu for talks over Real Madrid trio

Tottenham are in talks with Real Madrid over possible moves for Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, Arjen Robben and Gabriel Heinze.

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy, finance director Matthew Collecott and agent Dennis Roach met Real sporting director Miguel Pardeza on Monday for preliminary talks over the transfer‑listed trio.

Spurs boss Harry Redknapp has earmarked striker Huntelaar, 25, as Roman Pavlyuchenko and Darren Bent are expected to leave.

Robben, 25, has had injury trouble since leaving Chelsea in 2007, while former Manchester United left-back Heinze, 31, has a knee problem which Spurs will want to assess. A triple deal would cost at least £30million as well as significant wages and more talks between the clubs planned.

Ruud van Nistelrooy had been targeted by Spurs but their interested has cooled due to his fitness record and £90,000-a-week wage demands.

Monday's talks came after Levy had seen Sevilla officials to discuss compensation for former boss Juande Ramos.

Meanwhile, Manchester United's interest in Bayern Munich's Franck Ribery could be fading after they reportedly decided not to sign any players aged 26 or over.

That could boost Chelsea's hopes of signing the winger, who turned 26 in April.

Blues boss Carlo Ancelotti has also been given encouragement in his pursuit of Andrea Pirlo and Gennaro Gattuso, who both played for him at AC Milan.

Pirlo said: “It's possible I could join Ancelotti.”

Gattuso said: “Working with Ancelotti is good and Chelsea are a big, big team.”

the spurs chairman is like some weird football troll that lurches into the spotlight every summer going on expensive jollies to see what real football clubs are like and then getting ripped off for dodgy injured or over the hill players.
they won't buy any of this lot and they'll be an embarrassment next year just like they were last year and the forty-odd years before that.
redknapp will probably get sacked within two weeks after losing a couple of games and any decent players they've got will start sulking. could be relegation at last for the most broken club in the country.

Joe, Romford - if you ever get down the Lane you'll find that most of us are pretty realistic and that gallows humour rules! Sadly, though I wasn't born too late for the glory days of the early sixties, I was a bit small, but we did get quite close to the Double in 1967 ..... not had a sniff since!

- Paul, London

Joe your club not making much news again?
Still your content if you stay up!Just hijack our threads if it gives you a sense of purpose!
Keep blowing them bubbles xxx

- Jamie, essex

Paul, London - A Spurs fan with a sense of realism? I'm off for a sit down...

- Joe, Romford

3 excellent signings. I hope we can also get Van Der Vaart as well, seeing as he may be available in the Real Madrid clearout and we are light in midfield.

- J Rahman, London

what a waste of time, the dutch 3 amigos;young, coecker and a good striker and that's it.bye bye bent, pav and bentley;for goodness sake keep huddlestone and o'hara and give our youngsters a chance.

- Bob Banks, chester uk

please, please don't let that diving clown join spurs!let him go cheat with the diving idiots down the road,i'm sure they would appreciate him as they did pires!

- Yag Renoog, london

All the Gooners and Irons can s*d off - being a Spurs fan involves a compulsory summer of fantasy that only goes to make the misery of the actual season so much more exquisite!

- Paul, London

Robben going to the Spuds. Is he stupid & looking to downgrade his football career? Wake up people.

- Dom, London

Didn't Arjen Robben's father make exactly the same comments just before his moves to Chelsea and Real? Hmm.

Stu - Beckton Calm down, we know you hammers have a jealousy against everyone but its understandable...... your houses only have 4 wheels, 4 wheels, they only have 4 wheels!!!!!!!!!!!

Why oh why do we have to go through this every year. Spurs will not sign any of these players. Their wages, alone will stop that never mind what they want.

As for top four. I wish, anywhere from 5th to 15th its always the way. Just want to see some progress and momentum.

The top four will be same old same, thats another story. Maybe someone will break that, but it will take a lot of money both in transfer funds and wages. Spurs wage bill is considerably less than the top four, as is the case for the Hammers Everton and others. Spurs have spent on transfers, but also sold a fair few. Spent £40m in the Jan window, but had sold two for £50M in the summer and bought Pav for £13M ? as an example.

Would be nice if Spurs spent the summer making no promises about the top four or six, just get on with preparing for the season, and Spurs fans (those few) to stop making rash statements.

Jamie, essex - You really shouldn't be calling any other club a shambles when you insist on paying Michael Dawson to be a footballer

- Joe, Romford

So far Robben's father has stated there is no way his son is joining Tottenham. Heinze is a 31 year old with a knee problem & Huntelaar is hardly likely to move to a team not in europe next season! Mind you, it is about this time of year that Tottenham fans come to life & tell us how they will finish in the top 4 & above Arsenal! More likely is another year of mid-table mediocrity for Tottenham.

- Rob Gooner, North London

Skint? With the money you spend and the money we do?

Settle for mid to bottom? Two goals behind your ridiculous circus?

Laughing? Seriously, you think West Ham are a bigger joke than Tottenham? You've canvassed other teams' fans have you??!

Wake up and smell the Big Club (tm) Jamie...

- Stu, Beckton

Sad when people have nothing better to do than try and wind up rival team's fans.

Bless...

- Chris H, City

Arjen Robben's father, Hans, has given his thoughts on his son joining Tottenham. "Absolute nonsense" he told Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf. "We don't talk with Tottenham. At the moment we don't talk with any club. Of course, things can change overnight, but one thing is sure: Arjen will certainly not join Tottenham."

- Martin, London

Stu if any one is laughing it is every other fan at your shambles of a club. You are a big club with a lot of easily pleased fans that are overjoyed with not wining anything season after season & settle for mid to bottom table every season. We will see who is laughing when you finally go skint & join the likes of Leeds. In saying that Leeds have a future,What have you got??

- Jamie, essex

Well done Evs, you and the point seem to have spectacularly missed each other by about ten zillion miles.

Something you have in common with all your fellow Big Club (tm) supporters.

Btw, why on earth should we "worry" about bringing in loan players? Your absurd lot spent net £86million more than West Ham last season to finish two goals ahead. If you think that's worth crowing about it says miles more about you than it does proper fans...

Now go away.

- Stu, Beckton

Evs, herts - there is a reason it's the 'same old tune' as you call it - have you heard your manager speaking to the media? It's like he's reading from a script. And my posts are a parody of that.

Thank you for your concern about our club, but I can assure you we are far from potless and reports of our financial demise are greatly exagerated

- Joe, Romford

And I wonder, will any of them be any good this time next year??

A nation holds it's breath.

For fear of laughing. Obviously.

- Stu, Beckton

according to Robben's father & agent. He would bet he WONT be at Spurs next season

- K, England

Joe Romford is like a jive bunny record, same thing all the time.same old tune and very very boring, start worrying bout your own potless club looking for loan deals and losing if you have any, quality star players who are worth realistic money..for the record Harry has not made any comment regarding this STORY!!! YAWN YAWN MATE

- Evs, herts

Would be staggered if Robben went to Spurts. No offense chaps, but it would be a massive backward step for him. He is still young & must surely want Champions League or even European football next season. A proven international class, double Premier league & FA-Cup winning player, doesn't quite seem to fit in at the Lane!

- Nc, UK

Great news for Spurs if they can pull this off; but, I wonder, will it turn out to be talks about talks about talks prior to season-ticket sales?

- Ted, London

"What people need to realise is that these boys are all a fantastic talent, a fantastic talent. Obviously I don't want to talk about them as they're still under contract at Madrid, and I don't talk about players under contract at other clubs, but if you was to sit there and say to me "Would you like Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, Arjen Robben and Gabriel Heinze at Tottenham" then yeah, for sure I would, for sure. People will say I'm mad to let Bent and Pavely, Pavle, Pav.. That Russian bloke who runs around a bit go, I mean you should see some of the stuff they do in training, but out on the pitch they haven't pulled up any trees. To be honest, my Sandra could go out there and do better. And I need to get some fresh bodies in, the squad is looking down to the bare bones, for sure"

H Redknapp, 10 minutes ago

- Joe, Romford

Ooh, won't it just, Drew.

Tell me, how many years running (in multiples of five) have you come out with that sentence?

"Big Club" (tm) = "Big Joke"

- Stu, Beckton

HAHAHAHA! Thought it was April Fools again when heard Robben linked with Rottenham.

- Spuds Hater, London

I agree with Drew - Robben is quality. Jol wanted to sign him for that elusive left side of midfield, but got given Darren Bent instead. Lets hope this goes through as I'm already imagining the pace of Spurs with Robben on the left and Lennon on the right.

- Mike D, London

H Balow, for your information Deco is at Chelsea.

Get it right!!!

- Terry, London

2nd rate Robben...? you are having a laugh.
Goal of the Season 2 years running in spain.

Was amazing for Chelski

If this pulls off it will be an amazing coup for Spurs.

- Drew, Brighton

What a jokke is this. bringing Pirlo and Gattuso while u let Decco go. i want know what F Arsenen thinks.

- H. Balow, Eindhoven Holland

2nd rate robben
again we buy rubbish
