David Moyes out to get Tottenham's Alan Hutton on cheap

24 Jun 2009

Everton are eyeing up a cut-price swoop for Tottenham's Alan Hutton.

Manager David Moyes is reportedly tabling a £5million bid for the Scotland defender and Aston Villa are also believed to be interested.

A foot injury means Hutton has made just 19 League starts for Spurs since joining them from Rangers in a £9m deal 18 months ago.

Spurs plan to off-load flop forward Adel Taarabt, 20, to Malaga.

The Morocco international has struggled to break into the first team and was loaned to Queens Park Rangers last season.

"There is no way Spurs will sell their players at a loss." REALLY? What are they going to do with Bent and Bentley? Make a profit?? Don't be silly.

Why sell him in the first place? Ok so he was out injured but he returned with the same pace and determination which brought him to the club.

Better than Bale, Corluka, Spurs would be fools to sell him on at a loss. Keep him and see what he is made of!

Why would we want to sell our best full back? I work at the club as a steward and get to see the home matches. Chimbona must be sold before Hutton. Corluka has no pace (so more of a center back) and with di-di leaving we have little cover. i know hutton beat up his dad but he's the best we got - by a long way!

This overrated, overpriced full-back is welcome to go to Everton & if we get £5m for him, its a miricle!

"Typical cheapskate Everton, always wanting players on the cheap."?! Maybe that's because they don't have the same funds of other teams, and let's be honest, they have spent what money they have got better than anyone else in league. In fact, it's actually difficult to imagine anyone who's spent worse than Spurs over the last 10 years...

I'd be surprised if Tottenham let such a good player go, never mind at about half-price, having only signed him in January last year. He has played 25 games for Spurs in 17 months, but then subtract the summer months off-season and also two long periods out recovering from serious injury, and his record is good. He contributed good games in what was a disappointing period for the club from 1 March to May last season, and then he was injured and absent from the first ten games of what became an awful Spurs-start to 2008-09. Ferguson tried to sign him for Manchester United last season, and Moyes of Everton would, it is claimed, like to get him for the coming season. With the also very astute O'Neill of Aston Villa being interested as well, who is surprised that those three top-class mangers rate Alan Hutton so highly? On the other hand, some Spurs fans would sell the family silver and their grannies if it meant another transfer deal.

If David Moyes thinks he can get Alan Hutton for 5 million he is living in cuckoo land. There is no way Spurs will sell their players at a loss. If Moyes wants Hutton badly, then he can have him for a minimum of 9 million pounds. That is it!

Good-luck because i think you will find the price is 7-9ml sorry but thats it if you want him pay the price.

Typical cheapskate Everton, always wanting players on the cheap. Dont worry if they get him, they will pay what Harry wants for him, we dont have any Director Of Football meddling anymore, and Harry seems to have control of the pursestrings, so he knows he will have to finance his buys, with sales.
