Luke Fitzgerald is relishing the challenge of coming up against JP Pietersen tomorrow.

Pietersen is one of South Africa's main attacking threats and outshone team-mate Bryan Habana on the wing in the First Test.

Fitzgerald knows the onus will be on him to keep the 22-year-old quiet.

The Irishman said: "Pietersen is a really good athlete and I am looking forward to the challenge of facing him.

"You want to play against the best and he is one of them, which makes it a pretty daunting task. Defence is something I have worked really hard on in the last year."

Fitzgerald was chosen ahead of Ugo Monye, who was dropped after wasting two try-scoring chances in the First Test.

The Leinster wing said: "Ugo shook my hand when I got the nod and there are no hard feelings because of the mutual respect."
