Ivanovic can turn the tears to cheers

Good news for tennis fans and red-blooded males. Ana Ivanovic, who exited the tournament on Monday amid tears that make Paul Gascoigne look a well-rounded individual, will not be away from the court for too long. A scan has revealed the 21-year-old Serbian has suffered a 'micro-tear' [even her injuries are cute] in her left thigh muscle and must rest for the next two weeks. The problem will not affect her schedule as she was not due to play again until 3 August in Los Angeles.

Andy skipping his home front duties

On the face of it, Andy Murray picked a bad time to move home. Girlfriend Kim Sears and mum Judy are frantically ferrying boxes to his new £5million six-bedroom house in Oxshott, Surrey while Andy busies himself with trying to win Wimbledon. The world No3 admits the house currently contains “just a bed and a couple of sofas” and he has “done almost nothing to help out” but revealed: “Next door to my old place they used to have a skip which was emptied every morning at 7am. At least now I get some sleep.”
