Tim Boonen's anxious wait to learn fate
02.07.09
Tom Boonen's appeal to race in the Tour de France will be heard just 48 hours before the race starts.
The 28-year-old former cycling world champion launched his battle after organisers banned him because he had tested positive for cocaine.
As the test was out-of-competition, it does not carry an automatic suspension, according to World AntiDoping Agency rules.
The French Court of Arbitration for Sport, who will hear the appeal, said: "Everything will be done so that we can make a decision before the start of the Tour."
