It's Hunter Mahan's record but Tiger Woods's victory

Tiger Woods overcame a course recordequalling performance by Hunter Mahan to win the AT&T National at Congressional Country Club in Maryland.

The world No1 fired a three-under-par 67 to finish at 13-under, one ahead of Mahan, who closed with a sizzling round of 62.

The key moment came at the par-five 16th when Woods rolled in a 20-foot birdie putt. He said: "At the very end, as it went towards the hole, it started going left. It was like, 'Oh, God, just don't lip out now'. It went in, and from there I said, 'Okay, now if I can just play the last two holes, fairways and greens, let's just get the win'."

Mahan opened the day six strokes behind the leaders but stormed back into contention by matching the course record Anthony Kim set during the first round.

"I'm very proud of how I played," said Mahan. "This gives me a lot of confidence as I now know I can shoot a low round at any point."

German Martin Kaymer beat Lee Westwood in a play-off to claim victory in the French Open. The Englishman produced a final-round 65 to finish on 13 under but lost at the first extra hole in Paris.
