Teen star inspired by old master

Sixteen-year-old Matteo Manassero drew inspiration from playing alongside Tom Watson as he became the youngest ever winner of the Silver Medal.
The Italian finished with a 69 for a two-over total and a share of 13th place, making him the top amateur. Manassero had the thrill of partnering the 59-year-old and Sergio Garcia for the first two days. He said: "Playing with Tom Watson I grew up a little bit, Even if he didn't say something to you, even if he didn't give you advice, you have grown up just watching him. It was great. Leaving here with the Silver Medal is special for me, a great achievement."
Asked if he planned to turn pro now, Manassero added: "I want to finish school. My parents want me to finish school and I'm pretty sure I will."
