Communications chiefs held a brain-storming session last week to discuss how to put a positive spin on the promised sports legacy of the London Olympics, after their bosses had come under sustained attack for a lack of progress on boosting participation in sport.
Their Orwellian solution: to divert attention from the issue by searching for an alternative to the word "legacy".
