Ferrari snap up Giancarlo Fisichella for the rest of the season
3 Sep 2009Giancarlo Fisichella has signed for Ferrari for the remainder of the Formula One season after being released from his current contract with Force India.
Fisichella will replace Luca Badoer as team-mate to Kimi Raikkonen for the final five races, starting with the Italian Grand Prix on September 13.
Standing-in for the recuperating Felipe Massa following his horror smash in Hungary, Badoer endured a torrid time in the European and Belgian Grands Prix, leaving Ferrari with no alternative but to seek another driver.

Italian! Ferrari! No brainer - 5 races to prove in a top car that despite his age he could still do the business -think its the best move he has made in his career! Classy driver just never had the chance in a top car and or been over shadowed by other drivers - he is like an Italian Barrichello If he drives well he will get a drive next year at a more prominent team than Force India - he has taken a gamble & roled the dice and think it will work out for him - good luck Fissy!

He is Italian and a racing driver. Driving for Ferrari would be a dream come true. Allegedly Force India owe Ferrari millions for last years engines allegedly. Done deal!

Fisi's dream come true! Five races is better than none with his "home team", and there's always next season..... I wonder how many millions Force India got for releasing him early???
